File compression guide

We use compression to limit the bandwith usage during file transfer. You can compress one or more files in one or more folders using Windows XP compression utility or using a third party utility like WinZip.

Windows XP (Home or Professional) using Windows compression utility:

Right click the file or folder and point to Send To

This will make a compressed folder, identified by a zipper icon, which displays the same name as the file you compressed.

You can also make a compressed folder from scratch, by following these steps:

1. Rightñclick the desktop.
2. Point to New.
3. Click Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Open the new compressed folder and drag files inside that you would like compressed.
